Ashley Montagu (1905-1999) was a noted anthropologist. Much of his research centered on issues of race and gender in the context of international politics and development. One of his best known contributions was in the 1950s when he produced a series of works questioning the validity of race as a biological concept. These writings included the "UNESCO Statement on Race" and "Man's Most Dangerous Myth: The Fallacy of Race".
