Johann Kruger (1715-1759) was a noted physician on the faculty first at the University of Halle and later Professor at the University of Helmstedt. He is best known for his work in medicine and physiology. In the current volume, he suggests, beginning in childhood, what we today call a "balanced diet" as well as careful chewing and specially tailored meals as important steps to maintaining a healthy life and warding off illness.
