Covers mild soil, sun spine. Spine label chipped. Binding is tight. Ffep corner clipped, notes. 24mo. 60 (Hulsius) pps. (6), 179 (1) Leaves (Leusden). The volume is from the library of Scottish Patriot The Right Honorable Patrick Hume of Marchmont Viscount of Blasberry Lord Polwarth of Polwarth & Lord High Chancelor of Scotland. The two bookplates are dated 1702. He spent many years as an enemy of the British Crown several of which (1686-1689) were in exile in Utrecht, Holland. It is likely he obtained these works at that time. In addition, he was teaching his children at home during that period and it would be interesting to speculate if some of their studies included the bible for which these Hebrew-Latin works would prove helpful. A most interesting association item.
