Proceedings Royal Society Series B. Vol. 86, No. B587. Fine complete issue in original printed wrappers. The paper titled "Reciprocal Innervation and Symmetrical Muscles" is on pps. 219-232. The paper titled "Nervous Rhythm arising from Rivalry of Antagonistic Reflexes: Reflex Stepping as Outcome of Double Reciprocal Innervation is on pps. 233-261. Charles S. Sherrington (1857-1952) was a renowned physician & physiologist and the author of the classic work "the Integrative Action of the Nervous System" (1906). His major medical contributions were in neurology, spinal reflex and nerve function. He studied the distribution of the segmented skin fields and made the important discovery that about one-third of the nerve fibres are efferent, the remainder motor. In 1932 he and E. D.
